Porsche eye candy: Gemballa Avalanche Evo Orange

03/14/2006, 1:45 PM

By admin

Tuner Gemballa has further upgraded its GTR 650 Avalanche with a new kit called the “Evo Orange.” The car is based on the Porsche 911 (997) Carrera. The Avalanche’s motor boasts a breathtaking 650 hp and 820 Nm torque (at 4800 RPM). The car has a top speed of 210mph (335km/h) and can hit 125mph (200km/h) in just 11.2 seconds. Titanium piston rods, an intake system specially developed by Gemballa, three intercoolers and a special turbo configuration ensure longevity and reliability. Massive eight-piston brake calipers and accordingly sized 380 millimeter diameter perforated disk brakes make sure the Avalanche can also slow to a safe stop. Photos after the jump…

For those with subtlety in mind…*

*I love Porsche – don’t get me wrong, but I always have loved Porsche for its elegance and power… The whole package is a bit to teen-tuner-ish for my liking.

I am going to confirm what Josh has said above…

It is the 996 interior… The photos would leave you to believe that this is a 997 car with the 996 interior.

What gives?

Yep, thats pretty stupid. Why did they not use the 997 interior and also, why is it right hand drive?

Porsche called. They wanted to apologize – a tangerine exploded before the photographer arrived, and well, miscommunication ensued.

Yeesh – the whole reason why I dream of my future Porsche to keep me studying through school is becuase it’s the only exotic sports car you’re allowed to have without looking like a tool… sheesh.

There’s something not quite right with the interior…doesn’t hit the spot.

I gotta agree with #8 – That interior is just plain ugly. Why the hell would anyone put such an ugly interior into an all new car?
