Yeah, I agree with k64. As the Cayenne showed, Porsche is not simply about light cars, flat engines, or sports coupes. Porsche is simply about building cars that are the best at what they do. Even the 911 has gained some weight over the years, and while I lament that, the current cars are still the best that Porsche has ever made.

I’m rather tired of easy pot shot reviews.
The video review is ridiculously harsh, all because the Panamerica is not a 911. “oh…how terrible, Porsche built a four door”. You’d think, as others have said before me, that we’d be over that attitude after the Cayenne. The bottom line on this car was stated not at the bottom line, but half way through the video review, (to paraphrase the reviewer) “it’s the best 4 door sedan you can buy”. The reviewer likes it better than a BMW7 or a Mercedes and it’s fun and fast to drive. I’ll take one! (if I had $92k to spare).

I was hoping that this would look better, but still an amazing car. If you have seen it in person it does look impressive. It may not be beautiful, but yes, impressive.

It is BIG, no doubt about it. But, it is form follows function. It fits 4 people in absolute luxtury yet contineues to perform like a Porsche. I would love to own one.

Faster than anything as luxurious, and more luxurious than anything as fast. Just like my 928 was in 1987.

at the porsche dealer in my town, they actually got a panamera turbo! Somebody actually snapped it up on the first day, so there are people who like it, but it looks about as good in person as it does on the screen. This dealer also has a nissan GTR, and that, while i’m not a huge supporter, is quite a good looking car; maybe i should take it for a test drive!

That link shows an awesome more aggressive body kit and while it enhances the front end even more, thats not the problem with this car. The problem is obvious and hideous- the bulbous c-pillar shape that LLN describes as a “fish bowl.”

I really CAN get over the fact that its a 4-door from Porsche, that it puts up good numbers for weighing a beastly 4300 lbs and even the price. But I will NEVER EVER EVER get over the hideous rear 3/4 of this car. It just is beyond ridiculous that Porsche could not have shown this design to potential consumers around the world without constantly hearing about it yet decided to go with it anyway. Whoever made that singular decision single-handedly RUINED this car and should be SHOT!

Now we get a car thats “great” in every conceivable way but one and that one aspect is so off-putting that no matter how many Porschefiles gush to me its great in every way and somehow find a way to overlook it, I would never want one ever. I

ts bad enough to look at that eyesore (notice almost all marketing focuses on the front end) but to extend that thought and know that this company believes this to be a great and attractive design has me completely losing faith in the idiots in charge over there. What are they going to come up with next?

I have nightmares thinking how much a windshield replacement is on this car. That’s what I get for working for the insurance side of business here.

I love this car though. It’s really an amazing piece in person. I’d buy it exactly how they have pictured, except I’d option for the badge delete on the rear.

I can’t wait for a 928 to come out of this!!!

the 3/4 back end view is awkward, but that bulbous rear end is the only slight against it, imo…otherwise it’s just awesome…most reviews i’ve read are extremely positive…now, about those lottery tickets i need to buy…
