Porsche has just detailed a special trim package for its European-market Panamera five-door. The Platinum Edition is available on the all-wheel-drive Panamera 4 and Panamera Diesel.
All Platinum Editions will get a few select pieces covered in a platinum silver metallic paint, along with some extra standard features and unique trim bits. The silver accents include the lower halves of the side mirrors, air-inlet grilles, air vent grille on the side that's usually found on the turbo models, the trunk lid trim, and rear diffuser.
The car's body, in the meantime, will be offered in five colors, including plain black or white, metallic basalt black, metallic carbon grey, and metallic mahogany lacquer finishes. All also get glossy black window side strips.
The added equipment comes in the form of Bi-Xenon headlights and a front parking assist system. All mirrors will automatically dim when they get lit from the headlights of following traffic, while the 19-inch wheels were borrowed from the Panamera Turbo.
Inside, occupants get a part-leather interior that is black/luxor beige as standard, though a full-leather interior can be optioned. Other bespoke touches include a sport design steering wheel, a Porsche crest on the front and rear headrests, as well as door jamb strips that bear the Platinum Edition wording. Porsche's Power Steering Plus system is otherwise standard, as are heated front seats.
The PCM with navigation system uses a 7-inch touchscreen and uses 11 speakers that get 235W of power.
The Platinum Editions will arrive in German showrooms at the end of November, with prices set at 79,707 euros (about $104,450) for the standard Panamera Platinum Edition, 82,206 euros ($107,700) for the Diesel, and 87,323 euros ($114,300) for the Panamera 4. All prices include the local taxes. These are premiums of 2,261, 2,023, and 1,428 euros over the standard Panamera, Panamera Diesel, and Panamera Diesel versions, respectively.
The gasoline engine is a 3.6-liter V6 good for 300-horsepower, while the diesel is a 3.0-liter V6 turbo unit that makes 250 horsepower and 406lb-ft.
