Porsche has recalled certain 2011 and 2012 model year vehicles powered by the company's twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The recall covers the 2011-12 Panamera Turbo, 2012 Panamera Turbo S and 2012 Cayenne Turbo.

According to Porsche and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, those vehicles in question may have been equipped with defective turbine wheel. Due to a casting issue, it's possible the turbine wheel could fracture, resulting in a decrease in engine performance.

The defect could also cause oil to be drawn into the exhaust system, resulting in smoke and the increased likelihood of a fire.

Porsche will correct the issue by installing a new turbine wheel free of charge.

No accidents or injuries have been linked to the recall. Porsche will inform owners of the recall, which covers a total of 270 vehicles, by the end of the month.
