Porsche’s momentum continues to roll as the German automaker has announced a 29.5 percent jump in sales during the month of June. Porsche’s global sales are up 36.8 percent so far this year.
Porsche sold 10,677 cars worldwide during June, marking a 29.5 percent improvement over the same month a year earlier. Sales were led by the Cayenne SUV and Panamera sedan.
“We managed to increase our deliveries significantly again in June,” Bernhard Maier, Porsche AG Board of Management Member for Sales and Marketing, said in a statement. “This is accompanied by better-than-expected sales figures. The significant increase in new vehicle orders, especially for our front-engined sports cars, Cayenne and Panamera, also gives grounds for anticipating good sales figures in the coming months.”
Porsche’s China division saw tremendous growth during the month, with sales increasing more than 400 percent to 2,423 vehicles. The U.S.’ 18.9 percent growth during the month was enough to best China in total sales, tallying 2,546 new vehicle deliveries.
Porsche saw steady growth across most of Europe, with the company’s Russian sales increasing 63.6 percent. However, Russia still has plenty of potential for growth, with just 216 vehicles delivered there during the month.
The Cayenne was Porsche’s most popular vehicle during June, increasing sales 69.2 percent to 4,994 units. For the year Cayenne sales are up almost double to 30,055 units.
Panamera sales jumped 14.1 percent to 2,318 units while the 911 saw sales increase 1 percent to 2,015 vehicles. The Boxster line, which includes the Cayman, increased its sale 6.5 percent to 1,350 units.
Porsche has delivered 60,659 new vehicles so far this year.
