Porsche is on track to finalize plans for its 2009 Panamera sedan-coupe by April, according to a report by Automobilwoche. Meanwhile, Auto Motor und Sport is reporting that Porsche may offer the luxury-sports car with a hybrid drive option. Porsche is also said to be planning a hybrid Cayenne SUV. No new details were available from either report. We’ll keep you posted as this story develops in the coming weeks and months.

why would they offer a damn hybrid on a porsche!! this is a sports sedan!! if u can’t afford gas for in then dont buy it .. and dont give me BS about it being more ecomically friendly!

i think you mean environmentaly friendly, and as a reasponsible automaker porsche is obligated to use the most advanced technology in every aspect….it has nothing to do with being able to afford the fuel…geeze.

Hybrid drive could be tuned for performance. The instant torque from the electric motor is always a plus.

It does add unwanted weight, especially in the Panamera. I could understand it in a SUV.
As green as I am I do think it is a bit rediculous though.
