Porsche Cayenne price to bridge gap between Cayenne, Panamera
If the same pricing strategy carries over from the EU to the US, the Taycan could sell for well under $85,000.
Porsche has hinted at a price window for the upcoming Taycan, due to arrive in Europe next year before landing in US showrooms.
The brand's first all-electric production car will slot between the Cayenne and Panamera, with a likely starting price above 80,000 euros (~$92,000 USD), according to Automotive News.
"We're expecting a price somewhere between a Cayenne and a Panamera," confirmed Taycan director Robert Meier.
In the US, the Panamera's entry point sits at $85,000 while the Cayenne starts just shy of $66,000. A clean split would place the Taycan around $75,000, though it is unclear if US pricing will closely follow the EU plan.
The Taycan will be squarely aimed at the Tesla Model S, which fetches $77,000 for the base 75D edition and $135,000 for the P100D.
Unsurprisingly, Porsche already has plans to raise the Taycan's price ceiling with a flagship Turbo S variant that could cost 200,000 euros (~$230,000 USD).
