The difference is the Japanese brands learned from the mistakes and improved. Can’t say the same for some domestics like GM…

If you do not like the push rod V6 and 4 speed, buy the 250 hp DOHC with 6 speed w/ standard stabilitrak and steering wheel tapshift and 18″ wheels.

It has rear seat audio with wireless headphones.

Seems like under $25k for this pretty much loaded vehicle sounds darn good.

The only options are XM, power pass seat, adjustable pedals, leather, heated seats and sunroof or panoramic roof

Accords are reliable? Tell that to all owners with transmission problems (1998-2004). New Camry recalled for transmission problems. Altima engine reliabilty problems my 2002 and my 2003.

The new Camry rides like a TANK… it’s a lot of things (safe, reliable, attractive (for once!!)), but to call it “fun to drive” is blatantly untrue. This new Saturn looks fantastic (particularly the interior) and has decent power and (purportedly) far better fit and finish than traditional GM offerings. Anyone looking for a car in the midsize segment will be taking a long hard look at this. I agree with Mike that this car will be a sales success for GM in an extremely tough segment.

Honestly, the pricing is very competitive to the Accord’s. Most Accords we receive off the truck at the V6 level range from $24,000 to $28,000. I don’t know all the perks that come with the Aura XR, so I can’t make a direct comparison.

However, the 3.5 pushrod is not crap, its a strong motor, with good mpg. And having a V6 for 20K is better than the Accord 4 cylinder we get, usually at $22,000. Once again, I don’t know about how well it will compare in ammentities.

I imagine that the 3.5 model will eventually get the 6spd auto, once production really ramps up.

And it should be noted that the japanese v6’s start in the mid 20’s, so I stand by my above prediction. It will sell just fine.

Paris Hilton had a fender-bender accident when her Range Rover backed into a car in a parking garage after a shopping trip, her publicist said Friday.

Hilton backed into a parked Honda Civic on Thursday. A videotape on the TMZ.com Web site showed Hilton getting into the car, saying goodbye to someone and backing up. The sound of a crash followed.

The video showed scrapes on the bumpers of both vehicles.

The Range Rover stopped briefly then continued on toward the exit of the parking structure.

TMZ.com indicated Hilton failed to leave contact information for the Honda’s owner and thus may have violated laws against hit-and-run. Her publicist denied that.

“Did she commit a crime? No,” Elliot Mintz said.

i like saturn. i like saturn a lot.
but this offering, while a step in the right direction, is not strong enough. in the future please give us the astra as is. don’t go changing more than is dictated by regulations. bring a clean diesel into the mix, and we’ll talk.

but i’m bored already with the aura er “snore-a”.

Yeah, I was expecting 17k base and 21-22k loaded. 24.5k start for the “interesting” model is pretty rich for a car that looks like a newer Dodge Stratus. I don’t think they have any illusions of outselling the Accord or Camry, and I’ll bet they’ll only sell 30-40k per year at those prices.

The base small V6 pricing is ok at $20k.
Camry, Accord, Altima all start at $20k with an automatic. (Japanese brands have advertised starting prices that come with manuals.)

The real V6 at $24.5 is pushing it. Does it come with leather standard?
Japanese 250+ hp V6’s start at $22k.
