In an effort to drum up tuner interest in the 2007 Saturn Sky, tuning firm Gravana and General Motors will debut a Sky project car later this year at the 2006 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The car will features a 300 horsepower engine and two possible body kits. Enhancements to the Sky include an Aerodynamic Lower Ground Effects Kit, Full Bumper Body Kit, Carbon Fiber Engine Cover, Stainless Air Intake System, Header & Exhaust, Coil-Over Suspension, Sway Bars, Heat Extractor Hood, and more. Both a “Mild” and “Aggressive” front fascia will be offered. The latter configuration features mesh intakes and no fog lights. Official images and full specs will be released at SEMA. Preview (official mockup) gallery after the jump…

I don’t think that there’ll be much of a market for tuned Saturns, the badge will hurt the image too much. Although a 300hp Sky would be very fun to drive, and with a little more conservative body work, would look good too.

that is a Photoshop for sure! The wheels are blurry, the carbon fiber on the rear is horrible, the front mesh is garbage, the intercooler is off center. and the quickest way to tell a if its a Photoshop,(only the best of the best go into this much detail) look at the lines where the body panels meet. they are red, not black. why post up this kind of stuff? This kind of stuff hurts the image/integrity of LLN

also an obvious give away, the licence plate. “TD” why wouldnt GM put “Saturn” or “Sky” or “Redline” and im pretty sure the exhaust is from a lamborghini.

I could’ve done a better job in Microsoft Paint. That’s still not a good enough car to drag me over to the Saturn booth at a car show.

#3, #4, #5, Chill. No one is trying to fool you. Back in the day before the Internet, they had these paper thingies called “magazines.” The rendering that you see above is like the paintings of prospective new cars published by Popular Mechanics, Popular Science, and Consumer Review Car Preview. The difference is that the LeftLane News rendering was orginally digital rather than paint on paper.

Can they add some storage space too? Just enough so that you don’t have to put bags on your girlfriends lap for weekend jaunt to Vegas? Inexcuseable for an otherwise nice car, GM.

Whats interesting #11, you never mentioned the BMW M roadster, so it still must be better than a 300 hp Saturn Sky.

The Z4 is ugly, a secretary car. I’d rather have this Saturn or a Pontiac Solstice

Yes it is Photo shop now but they will make it. http://www.gravanatuning.com is a good company. That design is just like the one they have for the Solstice. The designer of it is actually Matt Teske which designs a promotes cars all of the time.
Where do you guys think ideas start on designs of bodykits. They start on paper or now with photoshop.
Oh and if you don’t like the bodykit but like the Sky then don’t buy the bodykit. Geeeez what kind of enthusiasts are you?!?!?!

I am an enthusiast and GM cars outside of the Corvette are not for enthusiasts. The Sky and Solstice are “piece parts” econo-roadsters. There are tuner parts for Kia’s so I guess anything is possible

The rear end design looks a lot like the one used on Hod Rod magazine’s build up of the Solstice with the LS7. Still, it looks to be one bad @ss ride nonetheless! This gives us domestic fans some much needed muscle in the tuner segment.

Yes the ION is going to be done as we know it. The Opel Astra is going to be rebadged as an Ion. But see the thing is when GM said that the Cobalt was going to be on the Delta platform I was like YAY !!! we are getting an Astra. Because the Astra is built on the Delta platfrom just like the Cobalt, HHR, Ion, Astra.
Right now think of all Saturns small cars and sporty cars as being just like what you see in Opel. Saturn is just going to have more with bigger cars and SUV’s like the Vue and the SUV/Minivan Hybrid Saturn Outlook.

If Saturn released this car for the price of the Redline, some higher priced ragtops would be in serious jepordy. 300HP sounds about perfect for this car. I have now seen several on the street and the car looks sexy as hell. Definately worthy of more power.

No. 27. Enlighten me then. Do you or have you owned one? Are you going off of some buddies bad experience with one? Your simplistic opinions simply lack reasoning so why should we listen to you? Everyone has on opinion but your lacks content.
The Saturn line was never designed (initially) to become a sport compact car. Like it or not the sport compact car segment is still hot. In any business when you have competition you compete, you don’t turn the other way. Regardless I give GM a thumbs up for showing initiative to design something like this that says to the imports, “Hey guys bring it on!” Remember these cars aren’t ricers, they are domestics, get it through your thick skulls!
You do realize that Saturn is probably the closest 100% American made car with the only manufacturing plant located in Spring Hill, Tennessee right? Not some foreign country like our other semi-domestics.

The best vesrion of this car is the Mallett Solstice. The one with the Vette motor. Its all you need.
Of course the fit and finish and reliablity will still SUCK.
There is more to a car than absolute horsepower and accelleration stats.
