French automaker Peugeot has released the first images of the 908 RC — a new concept car it plans to exhibit at the Paris auto show in September. Powered by a V12 engine, the car will put down around around 700 horsepower 885 pound feet of torque. Further details remain sparse, but have a look at our gallery after the jump…

God Damn!!! way to go Peugeot! it’s kinda hard to see Peugeot go from making ugly looking 206, 405, Peugeot Persia, 406 and all those ugly cars to this, but I must say props to them!

100% unlikely to hit the road. Another PSA showcase.
But what the point? revealing design strategic trends to competition?

they have nothing to build this from, even fewer people will buy a high end peugeot than would buy a vw (phaeton). This is a waste of time and energy. Concept cars are supposed to be on the ragged edge of what a company might do, but a good concept isn’t beyond the actual realm of possibility a company would go to.

why dont we get peugeot even mexico gets them. i would love to see the 206 and the 307 retractable hard tops here and the 407 coupe. for the price i would rather buy from them than chevy or pontiac, **** or ford lol. i dont understand it why arent peugeot imported to the states. i used to think it was emissions or safety regs but now im just a little clueless

this is and awesome concept but alas we will never see it so im going to bash it and say i dont care — booooo hissss

At least its different looking but still ugly to my eyes…I just don’t get why it seems every manufacturer is now producing a 200k+ supercar…must be a lot of rich guys out there these days because why would a manufacturer like Lexus(LF-A), Peugoet etc see a need for a halo car that doesnt fit its brand…I guess its just demand-driven and/or an industrial game of one-upsmanship…what’s next, the Kia PisaCrappa with a 750hp V12??

now thers a good manufacturer. I always thought Peugeot would come to the states. I know I’ve seen a couple of test cars in around Northern NJ but no debuts so far…this would be a good car to bring here!

Leave it to French to do something different. They’ve always had a unique sense of design. I kind of like it. At least its not another soap bar with a tweeked grill for sole identity.

The front is a bit weird but oher then that the french really have it going on in the design department.

The guy who styled that new chrysler sebring should go spend some time there.

Sadly that company has a history of releasing images of wild and fantastic looking concept cars… that never go beyond artist’s renders. Anyone remember the 907 concept that looked like a Ferrari 575?

Kyle, the 907 is real, I saw it at the motorshow…. I just think peugeot should set up a niche brand like jaguar has daimler and sell top of the range cars, eg the 907 and this thing, just like citreon has the amzing c6, no one in the UK’s going to buy it because its a citreon, if it was a La citreon or something people would love. We need a posh french car company becuase renault, citreon and peugeot have some amazing ideas.

oh they really built the 907? was it a clay model or a one-off, driveable car? Sounds… expensive if they never plan to put it into production. good publicity, however, is usually expensive.

908 is the same name as their new le mans car. i bet that this is a showcase for that new turbo diesel engine of theirs. notice that it is 908 RC (aka road car). definitely a showcase for LMP.

THIS IS NOT A CAR..THIS IS JUST A WAY TO SHOW TO THE WORLD HOW PEUGEOT CAN BE LEADING IN THE NEXT DECADES THE MOTOR INDUSTRY. THIS 908 CONCEPT IS NOTHING ABOUT A PRIODUCTION CAR. ITS JUST A FATC OF WHAT DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT AND EFFICIENCY A BRAND CAN ACHIEVE.

THIS CAR USES A DIESEL POWER WITH 700 HP, THAT WILL RACE NEXT YEAR AT 24 HOURS OF LE MANS. THE CAR IS MADE OF CARBON FIBRE AND ALUMINIUM, IN TERMS OF AERODYNAMICS SHOWS A MAGNIFIC CX, GROUND EFFECT AND REAR AERO DIFFUSER.

IF IT EVER HITS THE ROADFOR SURE THE BUYER WILL HAVE TO SPEND NO LESS THAN 1 MILLION DOLLARS…BUT FOR SURE HE WILL AMORTIZE THAT INVEST THANKS TO ITS FUEL EFFICCIENCY

I don’t understand this ignorant people saying Peugeot build crapy cars. That shows they didn’t look at their cars lately. Peugeot is one of the most successful/profitable car manufacturer in the world. They have been the best in WRC (along with co-company Citroen), built incredible racing engines (F1 and endurance). they work with bmw on new small engines that are powerful and fuel efficient. I m sure the people bashing Peugeot never drove one of their cars. It s probably because they just hate the french (politicaly correct, nonetheless racist). Their cars handle wonderfully, are fun to drive like bmw but much cheaper.
