I belevie the 2008 limited addition should come with the T-top cover on the roof it would look great. In addition, it should come with the DUB EDITON can come with the nice wheels chromed out with a nice borla dual exauhst system as mufflers. This Dodge would be the ULITMATE car that I would love to own. It’s the greatest car invetion. It also stands out just as the old 1970 American Muscle Challenger. Please Dodge you should think about the T-top cover.

From the comments here implying that the camaro is a car designed solely for rednecks and hillbillies, I’m guessing you all have forgotten about a certain popular tv series featuring the challenger with a slew of moonshine-smuggling yokels? They’re both nice attempts at jumping on this retro bandwagon and I wouldn’t make any assumptions about anyone buying either.

Why people always say “I work for them, I know…” I’ve worked for big compaines and just because I was there everyday didn’t mean I was in on thier secrects. And what did post #41 have to do with anything? Just beacuse people you work with want something doesn’t mean anything as they also aren’t an important part of DCX’s decision making process.

The only reason I doubt everything you said is beacuse you mentioned that it will have a 5-speed manual. Don’t be stupid! There is no way that any auto manufacturer is going to produce a 5-speed in a $30,000 car. Especially when the only high hp car that they had with a manual has had a 6-speed since it came out 14 years ago. So if your info says 5-speed then its just wrong.

Sorry, but nothing is set in stone yet. Some at DCX want the Challenger to be a Mustang fighter and to compete in that market with variants, Others at DCX want it to be a limited exclusive halo car for Dodge. Trust me on this.

According to several sources, Chrysler is trying to decide on which strategy to follow: a high-price, low-volume run, or a high-volume, lower-price run. Also in flux is the question of engines – restricting to just the Hemi, or allowing both the Hemi and at least one V6. However, a manual transmission will be available along with an automatic, each having five speeds; an SRT-8 version will have the 6.1 Hemi while the stock Challenger will have the 5.7 Hemi (no, they will not have the new crate Hemi, nor did we expect them to). At this point we believe there will be a first-year run of about 50,000 Hemi equipped Challengers, possibly with automatics, followed by a smaller run of Hemi Challenger SRT-8 cars with manual transmissions.

the SRT8 Charger is 38k i cant see the challenger being cheaper then that. 30,000 untis/year, brand new engine, no shared sheet metal/interior. its going to be pricy..im gonna say $45,000

the Challenger is a limited edition $45,000+ car. the Mustang and Camaro both will have an expansive price *range*… from low $20k to $50k or more. that is. the Camaro and Mustang are *mass-market* cars…. the Challenger is not.

I like em all. #13 what part about 6.6 litres is not going to pull whatever wheight is on it? Oh and do I get a giant flaming eagle on the hood of the camaro are do I have to wait for the Pontiac’s Firebird incarnation of this? And what about the shaker hood for the Challenger? Mustang should also do the California Special for the Mustang right? A fin on the back sequential tail light blinkers, skirt kit. Why isn’t anyone else saying this stuff?

the challenger is deff the purist interpretation of “retro” of the 3 muscle cars. Which is why i think it is so talked about, it has that generic musclecar look to it. and it pulls it off really well. i think alot of the camaros intrest is more in the Name itself rather then the car. They could have badged any 2dr rwd car “Camaro” and ppl would flock to it. though i think the deisgn is really well done also. and i think the Mustang is the best of both worlds, great shape and more history then you can shake a stick at

Personally I think the challenger looks much better then both the Mustang and Camaro. Saying that even though the Challenger was almoct production ready unlike the camaro which was pure concept. When the comaro comes out it will look alot more softer and probably the worse looking of the three.

I knew that ever since the Challenger “concept” was introduced last year that it was more of a ‘pre-production’ car than a concept like the Camaro. I’m glad to hear it will look just like the concept. The Camaro on the other hand will undergo alot of changes to make it legal. Both exterior and interior of the Camaro will change.
