A near-production version of the Audi R8 was caught in testing by spy photographers working for Brenda Priddy and Company. The car appears almost identical to the Audi LeMans Concept on which it is based. However, some changes have been made to the front end of the car. Most notably, the headlights take on a slightly different shape. Moreover, Audi seems to have changed the placement of body panel seams on the front on the car. The R8 does not have a traditional hood and quarter panels, but rather a reverse-opening hood that wraps around the sides of the car. The new seams appear smoother and more purposeful than the previous iteration. The R8 is expected to make its official debut at the end of the year. It will be priced directly against the Porsche 911 and Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
