Spy photographers from Hans G. Lehmann’s Hidden Image caught a near-production Volvo C30 in cold-weather testing near the Arctic Circle. Such testing is often indicative of final stages of development. The car is still wearing heavy disguise, but it’s widely expected to look almost identical to the C30 Concept show in Detroit in January. Availability is expected to begin this fall, shortly after Volvo shows the final version at the Paris Motor Show. Recently, we asked readers to weigh in on how Volvo should proceed with the C30. Volvo is said to be considering at least three price points, ranging from $23,000 to $30,000.

The C30 is a great idea in a time where vehicles have grown far too large, heavy and boring. Volvo just needs to make available their new compact 3.2L inline 6 in this car to make it competitave with the BMW 130i and upcoming Volkswagen R36.

Awesome car and agreed on the 3.2L coment. I found this talk about using the new engine in the C30. http://www.c30world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53
Its interesting because it seems that the engine is brand new and ready, and it could fit into the C30, I guess we will see what volvo decides to do.
