Prom-goers in Jenks, Oklahoma, watched as the limousines they had hired to transport them to their school’s annual prom dance were repossessed due to what the limo agency owner says was a mix up between his bank and the repo company.
While standing outside of the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks, a suburb of Tulsa, the students watched their limos drive away despite the fact that the drivers were not in the extended-length cars. Students and parents who were overseeing the event said that they called the police to report that the limos were carjacked or stolen, but it turns out that they were actually being repossessed.
The owner of the Galaxy Limo says that he and his bank had worked out the issue earlier but that the bank had failed to communicate the cancellation of the job to the repo company.
He says that he plans to offer a partial refund or a free future rental as an apology to the high schoolers.
