Chrysler’s Ram division has added a new luxury trim level to its family of pickup trucks at the Chicago auto show. Called the Ram Laramie Limited, the new trim will sit atop the Ram truck lineup.
Aimed at “affluent pickup truck buyers”, the Laramie Limited sports high-end touches like full leather seating with contrasting piping and piano black interior components. The Laramie Limited will stand as a more subdued alternative to the over-the-top, southwestern-themed Ram Laramie Longhorn edition pickup.
Fred Diaz, President and CEO of the Ram brand, describes the Laramie Limited buyer as someone involved in some form of motor-sport, but that still requires the comfort of a luxury vehicles.
“The Ram Laramie Limited customer is going to be involved in some sort of motor-sport activity,” Diaz said. “Whether they’re towing a ski boat, a race-car hauler, motorcycles or snowmobiles, they’re looking for comfort and class and an expressive way to carry their crew and their gear.”
The Laramie Limited package will be available on Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 models. No pricing has been announced, but the range-topping trim package will hit Ram dealers during the second quarter of 2012.
