Spy photographers have spotted a mystery Range Rover lapping the Nürburgring, believed to be a Range Rover R. Land Rover ’s new high-performance SUV is intended to compete with the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and Mercedes ML 55 AMG, and possibly BMW ’s upcoming M SUV.
Power is said to come from a 5.0L supercharged V8 — that will also see use in the Jaguar XK-RR — rated at about 500 horsepower. Hinting at the increased power under-hood, the Range Rover R is also sporting quad exhaust.
