That’s a sweet ride. Biff’s mercedes is a convertible. In my family Mercedes were frowned upon because of the Nazi connection. But then Biff told me that was ridiculous and absurd so I went along when he told me I should be driving one. But now there is this new “Dr. Z” and his commercials and all i can think of is Hitler when I see that “mean” Dr. Z. Is it me or is this just really sick advertising on the part of Mercedes?

14, the explaination of the lower standards for quality and reliability lies in MB’s decision, beginning with the bugeyed benz, to turn out new lines of cars faster. with the new tech included as well as design, MB cut down on R&D time and figured they could get the same results with repair/recall campaigns. in addition, try sticking to *actual facts* if you’re going to try to tarnish the three-pointed star.

#9: I agree! All this “xyz-class” talk is incredibly confusing IMO, and adding more models in those classes does *not* help. :-/

It’s built in Brazil because of the government cut a deal with DaimlerChrysler and put forth a package of tax incentives in order to generate jobs. It doesn’t have anything to do with quality- the quality control crew in that factory are all German employees working in Brazil. Now, that being said, the Mercedes quality and reliability has never been great anyways, in fact one of the poorests on the luxury segment, so does it even matter where it’s built?

That’s for the units shipped to US. As for the rest of the world. We got MB and BMW factories in 3rd world countries supplying local buyers. They still buy them anyway…

And Merc dealers are worried about the Smart tarnishing the image? Thats pretty funny.
Oh yea, Brazil is so great because they have nude beaches…Now there is something to aspire to. Maybe you can petition to have naked folks on the beach put on your flag.

I don’t mind that it is being built in brazil. in my opinion brazilian made products are nicer than mexico’s. but if the C class look like the rest of the MB line up, im staying away from it.
