French automaker Renault revealed a new concept car at the Geneva Motor Show today called Mégane. The car is intended as a preview of a production compact coupe to be released at a later date.
The car’s overall shape and styling will eventually translate into the aforementioned production car. As for the rest of the Mégane — it’s purely experimental. The two-stage gullwing doors and exotic interior, for example, show what might be possible. The car also features LED headlights and foglights.
“This show car emphatically showcases the evolution at Renault Design. Its squatter proportions and powerful, energetic styling talk directly to the driver’s senses,” said Renault’s Patrick Le Quément, head of design.
Power comes from a 200 horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. The car also features a sport chassis, plus suspension and steering engineered for responsive handling.
The car is completed by 21-inch aluminium alloy, seven-spoke, satin-finish Dragon Grey wheels equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport performance tires (245/35).

This is an interesting concept but at the same time it doesn’t do anything for me. In addition, Renault will never put this car into production the way it is presented here.

I would like to be able to open my windows from time to time.
concepts that don’t have functionality are kind of like brainfarts…. I mean, how much time did they spend designing those windows, which will never see the light of day.

Decent, especially when taking into account it came from the cheese-eating surrender monkeys.
