With its current Espace headed to the annals of automotive history, Renault decided to preview an upcoming production van today at the Geneva Motor Show with its R-Space Concept.
Considerably shapelier than the outgoing Espace, the R-Space Concept boasts a tapered profile with gradually-changing glass thickness designed to create a more intimate – yet still roomy – cabin.
Renault says it picked the concept car’s unique colors and materials by envisioning a family’s Sunday breakfast – a time when the automaker says its core audience will be most often together.
“The tenderness and warmth of these shared moments find their expression in tones that are hot and ‘sweet’: the white of the milk, the golden shades of the honey, the brown of the chocolate,” explained Laurence Widmer, Head of Colours and Materials on the Renault R-Space concept, in a statement released to the media.
Look for the production version of the next-generation Renault Espace to debut in about six months at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
