I think this might be a good thing (that they are trying to do for themselves) – They are all trying to have a slice of the eco-pie – Toyota has its Prius and GM will have the Volt… Perhaps they want to be perceived as trying to do something ‘positive’ as a company…. Just like how LG shot to recognition with its TV-Fridge…
