Renault Twingo Concept unveiled

09/27/2006, 12:39 PM

By admin

Renault at the Paris Motor Show will present the Twingo concept — a replacement to the Panda compact car. The three-door hatch will be powered by a 1.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with output around 100 horsepower. The car features frameless windows — visible when the doors are open — and a panoramic glass roof. The concept interior features four bucket seats, though the production version will probably have a more standard seating configuration. Up front, the center console has a number of electronic interfaces, including a standard USB port. A television and computer are also featured. The exterior is likely very close to the production vehicle, minus the unusual color scheme. Gallery after the jump…

Looks ok for being a sub-sub-compact.

Twingo = dumb name.

Renault already has a current Twingo. No such thing as a Renault Panda.

This is one manufacturer who’s styling always seems to be ugly, no matter what.

cars a joke, has a 1.2 litre engine with turbo and it’s only putting out a 100 horses, no tuner would look at at and no sane person would buy it. do yourself a favour scrap the idea.

Great little city car, twingo is a great original name.

Renaults all look fabulous, the detailing is usually spot in, unlike Chryslers and BMWs

The surfacing on this vehicle is impeccable, I think they should bring this to the US as a competitor to Aygo and ForTwo to relaunch Renault

What a cool looking little car. I’ll bet it’d sell here in the U.S. Maybe Renault would allow Ford to build and sell it here.

It’s a cool car…I’m not being any objective in any way, as I’ve always had a soft spot for Twingos. Frankly they’re quite ugly and the ride is so-so but they’re hard not to like when you’ve driven one around in the south of France. ;-)

Another stunner from Renault. The design team really knows how to delight the eye.

It’s not often a subcomapct has such a snarky nose.

Beats that grossness that Chevy calls Aveo by a long shot!

The exterior is pretty cool. The interior would get tiresome after a while, but this is a concept.

I wonder if they plan on making a Twingo Sport?

this twingo looks like what the new clio should have been – great concept, and hopefully they’ll stick to it for production…

Better than the original twingo… that thing was a ghastly joke.
