I hope Aston show us something new because recent Astons while very nice is starting to look alike. More differentiation between the model range is a must.

700 bHP and only 205 mph! Aero dynamics must be up the shitter. A porsche GT3 can get close to that speed and only has 420 bHP. I don’t deny these cars look great but come on, include function with form.

Enzo and 599 “virtually the same” ?!?!?!! Other than their completely different powertrain layouts and motors, racing vs. street suspension and passenger capacity, interior materials and layout, and wildly divergent styling… you are absolutely correct! Homeboy must have thought the article was comparing his Cutlass Supreme to a Buick Regal.

I absolutely think this is a good idea- if celebs are willing the shell out 450k for that piece of crap Benz, they will Definately be willing to buy a hand made aston martin. Expecially considering their growth as of late.

I concur with (the poster) Aston Martin’s point. The article says that (the company) Aston Martin are gunning for the SLR and/or Veyron, both of which are GT cars. True, they offer some of the best performance in the world (the Bugatti’s is arguably THE best performance in the world), but they’re not supercars in the sense that an Enzo, Zonda, or Koenigsegg is.

That being said, I’d be curious to know how much competition there actually is in this field. Most of these cars are built in extrememly low numbers, and often times all of them are sold before the first one even rolls off the production line. Not to mention the fact that it seems like many of the people own one supercar probably own two supercars… or twenty.

Still I think it’s for that reason I think Aston should, and probably will, build this car. There’s money to be made in this segment, and if they can make it, I think they should. I’ve always been a big Aston fan, and now that they’re independent of any large manufacturer I really want to see them do well. what can I say, I like pulling for the little guy.

With 700 hp, they could afford to let it be a bit heavy. Although, with the use of carbon fiber and aluminum, the car shouldn’t be overly heavy anyways. AM should definitely build it.

YES YES YES!!! Build it! It would be the ultimate Aston, making it the ultimate car, second only to the planetary Bugatti Veyron. The name DBX sucks though, call it something like the DB50 or DB700. Aston cannot change their design, as the cars are the most exquisite things of beauty. They can improve on it, alter it slightly, but not go for a new design philosophy. Every Aston is handmade with extraordinary care, trimmed with materials of the finest quality and aesthetic value. Then, a powerful engine is put in and the magic coms to life.
I suppose Aston do have to rival the Ferrari 599 in some way, now that we shall soon be waving a sad goodbye to the Vanquish. The DB… will be great. No Aston has ever failed to impress, to really get people to love and respect it. Anyone who doesn’t like or want an Aston Martin has no heartbeat.

Aston has THE company for luxury uber-GTs. Since Mercedes popped out the SLR and Ferrari unleashed the 612, Aston needs something like this to keep them in the news. 700 seems a bit excessive though…maybe work on getting the weight down instead?

i am an AM fan. they are the only companys out there that i dont care how fast they go or how sharp they turn. the only thing i care about is how they look. keep it up i would love to see something along the lines od the DB9R they were racing in ALMS…a work of art
