Audi has already shown three different concept versions of its e-tron electric sports car, and it looks as though a fourth iteration EV is on tap for the Paris Motor Show. The e-tron last surfaced at the Detroit Auto Show.
According to the latest report out of Europe, Audi will unveil a convertible version of its e-tron concept at next month’s Paris Motor Show. Although earlier e-tron concepts differed from the one on hand at Detroit, the Paris-bound drop-top is expected to be based on the Motor City show car.
Like its hardtop counterpart, the Paris e-tron concept will be powered by a pair of in-wheel electric motors. The convertible setup is expected to add about 200 pounds to the e-trons curb weight – bringing the total to about 3,200lbs – but the EV will still boast brisk performance, with a 0-62 time of 5.9 seconds. Total range is pegged at about 150 miles.
As with the Detroit e-tron concept, the model set to debut in Paris is said to be a near-production version of the electric sports car. However, the start of production is still a few years off, with the e-tron not expected to hit the retail market until 2012.
