I believe they are discontinuing the model because new platform is coming soon. Platform B8 will be in the showroom by next year fall as 2009 model. RS series usually comes a year after. I hope they do phase it out, it was a horrible, ugly car. Audi probably realized that the RS4 was going to get crushed by the new CTS-V and pulled it off the market before it embarrassed them. Once the B8 A4 platform comes out, sales of the "older" looking B7 RS4 might be impacted, and Audi, having limited production abilities once the all new A5/S5/RS5 family comes out, probably decided not to waste time on the RS4. It was intended as a limited production vehicle anyways.
