BMW is planning to offer a hybrid version of its recently-unveiled 2007 X5 SUV some time in the next twelve months, according to the latest issue of the U.K.’s Autocar magazine. The German automaker unveiled the new X5 earlier this week. Initially, the truck will be offered with a 4.8-liter V8 capable of 350 horsepower or a 3.0-liter inline-six with 260 horsepower. They like to use capacitors instead of batteries for energy storage. They store them in the rocker panels.
It’s more efficient.
What driveline they will use is obvious, just go back to the previous thread,

I’ve read not too long ago, that BMW is developing hybrid system for SUVs together with GM and Chrysler.
