The 2012 Cadillac CTS is in line for a few updates, but some driving enthusiasts might not be thrilled with the changes — Cadillac will reportedly drop the manual gear box from the CTS 3.6’s option list.

According to InsideLine, Cadillac will no longer offer a manual gear box in its 3.6L-powered CTS coupe and sedan models. Currently, rear-wheel drive versions of the CTS Performance sedan and coupe models are available with a six-speed manual. No reason for the move was given, but slow sales are likely to blame.

Although the CTS 3.6’s six-speed manual will be nixed for the 2012 model year, CTS buyers will still be able to row their own gears. All CTS-V models will be available with a manual transmission and the car’s base 3.0L V6 will also retain its manual option.

Other styling changes are also expected for the 2012 Cadillac CTS, including an updated grille.
