Chrysler is reportedly looking to hire more engineers and product designers as it begins a thorough Fiat-led product renaissance. The company has shed numerous jobs over the last decade as it has passed from one owner to another, but it appears that the current Italian ownership wants to bring products to market faster.
Allpar reports that Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne is apparently considering asking some of its formerly laid-off workers to return to the company, although the Web site doesn’t cite any sources. Allpar says that the re-hires would be in design, engineering and product development departments.

Marchionne has not hidden the fact that he wants Chrysler to move up most of its new product launches and that he wants the company to develop new models in a quick 18 months rather than over the typical 24-36 month cycle.
