Bringing back leasing will only help Chrysler and GM. Within the next couple of months you will probably see an increase in vehicles sold by both Chrysler and GM due to fleet sales. Specifically to rental companies and large corporations that would not in their right minds buy vehciles when they can lease them and write the lease payments rather have them sit on the books as an asset.

If GM decides to lease all their vehicles again you can say goodbye to Toyota taking top sales spot again.

Methinks that NMOFGM might work for ol' Government Motors with single-minded loyalty like that. The high price of any car means that leasing provides more people with an opportunity to buy a car, and therefore increases sales potential (if the person is approved that is).

"Through the end of the month, the Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan, Ram 1500 and Journey, and Jeep Wrangler and Liberty will be available with special lease rates."

I noticed this with the last leasing post as well. Are they re-instating leasing as an option because these vehicles are selling the worst of the ones they have? Or they're worried they will. have no idea, don't get all upset and defensive on me if you don't think so, I'm just wondering. I think they're worried about these vehicles most of all, partially because the price of gas will climb as the recession/depression recedes. Why else would they do it?

@NMOFGM: You really do not think before you speak. I am not saying that Chrysler's models are superior to GM models or the other way around, they both need help. I am saying that from a business stand point lead off with the brands most popular and best selling models FOR THAT BRAND. I respect your brand loyalty, but it is overshadowed by your extreme ignorance. Would you just crawl back into the womb already.

@NMOFGM: You know if you were really an American you would be supporting all the American brands efforts in their pursuit of a revival. Sales aside, GM is not that much better off than Ford or Chrysler. The brands are either much improved and/or in the process of improvement, but have many hurdles to cross. In fact GM and Chrysler seem to be now adopting what Ford had already begun, before the whole bailout/bankruptcy proceedings. Without being contridicting (good luck in all their efforts), but:

Be American. Buy American. Buy Ford

The Grand Cherokke is outdated and unreliable. All those people who would have bought JGC in the past have moved up to buying much more superior Lambda utes. Many of them probably bought Chevrolet Equinox's and GMC Terrains as well. Infinitiely better vehicles bby the way. The 300 is way outdated and rides on a crude, clunky old Mercedes platform, has an interior cheaper than an import and also suffers reliability problems. The Buick Lacrosse destroys the 300 in quality, ride and will last hundreds of thousands of miles longer than a Chrysler and never have a problem.

The Challenger had it's 10 seconds in the limelight. Then got it's ass kicked by a certain Pony car from General Motors, the Camaro.

Everyone has moved on, Chryco doesn't have a future unless it can somehow be able to buy GM vehicles to sell, which everyone knows will never happen.

Well, I really do not see the point. With all the incentives and rebates on the entire line-up, why not just buy the car. And with that, I understand putting lease specials on the vans, Wrangler, and Ram, but what about the Grand Cherokee, 300, Charger, and Challenger. IMO these are all the best models that worth purchasing or leasing.

How is leasing going to help when the Country has abandoned your product? Sorry Chryco, people have moved on. Witness the sharp increases in sales at General Motors, a company that has the engineering, the design, the quality and the reputation to remain the Standard of the World.

And you got sold out to the Italians. Givie it up, you're gonners. Victim of the American Revolution. Be glad the government gave you the free money they gave you. Now, there's no coming back. Pack it up.
