To help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Down Under-market Falcon, Ford will reportedly slip in a supercharged version of the brand new Coyote V8 first introduced in the 2011 Mustang.
Australian certification documents obtained by GoAuto indicate that Ford is planning up to three supercharged variations of the Coyote V8 for the market. The base motor, which GoAuto says would crank out 422 horsepower – would likely be a detuned but supercharged Coyote V8 aimed at cutting emissions while still providing ample performance. From there, look for a 450-horse version in the Falcon FPV GT.

To top things off, the Falcon GTHO – which revives an historic Australian nameplate – would get a 536-horsepower, 479 lb-ft. of torque monster of a Coyote powertrain. Specifics on the supercharging methods have not been released – but the numbers would certainly help the Falcons well outperform comparable Holdens.

Oddly, the company has only received homologation approval for the V8s in its XR8 Falcon ‘ute, a unibody pickup popular Down Under. that move would ensure that the supercharged V8s would not be officially sold in many markets – especially not in North America or Europe, where Ford is focused on creating lower displacement, more efficient EcoBoost engines.
