"^ ^ your an idiot, e30e!!! They stopped using the old Fox platform. Mustang is on a new different platform that has been used on T-bird, LS, and S-type. Better near 50/50 weight distrubtion.

Next time, check ur facts before posting the most idiotic comment ever! We all knew but you! Read car mags, will ya?

Comment by GM is lame and lazy in designing, posted on August6 at 9:04 pm"

awwwww... it's a shame you are just as equally idiotic. and succeeded in posting the *actual* "most idiotic comment ever" because apparently... you also lack the ability to 1) "check ur facts" 2) "read car mags"

things that are true about your post : yes. the Mustang is no longer on the ancient Fox platform.

things that are incorrect : basically everything else. namely this old chestnut routinely paraded around as fact :

"Mustang is on a new different platform that has been used on T-bird, LS, and S-type."

no. no it isn't. the T-Bird / LS / S-type are on the DEW98 platform. *originally* there was talk about developing a cheaper DEW98 variant called the "DEW Lite" platform to underpin the new Mustang. but it quickly became obvious that this was going to be cost-prohibitive. instead a *Mazda* derived platform was developed called the D2C platform. it is loosely based on the FWD (yes. you read that correctly.) Mazda C1 platform (think Mazda3 / Euro Focus / Volvo S40 ... etc etc.) and heavily modified into the D2C RWD Mustang platform.

there are sketchy rumors that suggest *possible* FUTURE cars like a Thunderbird / LS replacement that might maybe possibly use the same D2C platform as the current Mustang.

in conclusion... it always helps to check your facts before posting. and especially before calling others idiots. you know... just in case you end up proving yourself to be an equally big idiot.

Looking forward to this one.

If the Chrysler is lower volume and more powerful (rumored 6.6 liter power) It will be the more valuable car.

Agree with you 99% Frank nice post, the only difference I have with your post is that if the mustang GT500 will be the leader in the HP department(allready supercharged), who cares at over 45 thousand (if not 50) out the door with dealer markup and taxes they will sell several hundred if not a few thousand. Great I'll see maybe a dozen in my area over the years. While even the LS2(lutz had mentioned this would be the SS) that will probably sell for mid to low 30's is not even supercharged. 5 grand extra could buy me alot of aftermarket HP and I'll still have over 10 thousand saved. Of course this is all hypothetical on the GM side. BTW to all of you that don't like the car no ones holding a gun to your head.

Yea, should help...but we will see the concept over and over again for the next two years and be sick of it by the time it makes production. Plus, once the beancounters get a hold of it I would expect it to have the look and build quality of the current Monte Carlo. Not good.

No need in fighting about this now, we'll have plenty of time in the future years to duke it out on the track and at the stoplights. It will most likely remain the same as it always has, the Mustang will cheaper, and the Camaro will be faster, although only time will tell. Again, until the Camaro is on the street, no one will no for sure, although if the history has taught us anything the Camaro will be a formidable opponent for all mustangs to say the least. We should all just be happy that muscle cars have been given new life, and even as a loyal Camaro follower, I have to give credit to Ford on their excellent re-design of the Mustang that has forced Dodge and Chevrolet to re-enter the market with their own products. I just pray that GM will give us a version with an LS7 to lay it down to GT500, otherwise I will have to tip my hat to the Mustang as they will most likely have the top model, but I have faith we will have LS7 powered Camaros to handle anything the competition has.

Who cares. People still remember the old POS Camaro. GM should have changed the name and gotten some new designs. Oh wait, this is the same company that has it's head up it's butt when it comes to making cars that sell. This isn't 1969 and muscle cars are antiques for nostaligic generics. Come on GM get some ORIGINALITY.

Now all GM needs is to attract the right clientele. The worst thing that could happen is the new Camaro gets the reputation of the old one... esp the IROC version.

GM is lame and lazy in designing, The T-bird went on sale as a 2002 model. It was dropped after the 2005 model year. A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since that platform was new. As for the Mustang, a major selling point is that Ford designed it so that its owners can do their own repairs. Modern sophistication and owner repairs are mutually exclusive.

Nice, this pic makes it look 100x better then the other ones IMO for some reason. I might actually consider this.

^ ^ your an idiot, e30e!!! They stopped using the old Fox platform. Mustang is on a new different platform that has been used on T-bird, LS, and S-type. Better near 50/50 weight distrubtion.

Next time, check ur facts before posting the most idiotic comment ever! We all knew but you! Read car mags, will ya?

PRAISE THE LORD!,...Finally,...I vote to keep the side scoops(for retro purposes). It would be even be sweeter if they were cooling ducts for the rear brakes.
