LOL @ GMrules

Get over yourself and off the nuts of GM... Until they build a 4cylinder turbo coupe with back seats, the sky and solstice are just niche market roadsters and have nothing to do with this Nissan...

Typical GM thinking... err, diz cars got one dem turbos and it's a 4 cylinder and it's fast.

Don't bother Nissan. people would rather buy a superior Solstice or Sky over any pile of crap you call a sportscar. Even your own G35 coupe looks like crap and drives like crap next to the Kappa twins. Might as well stick to bland sedans with junk motors that sell to the import humping losers of the world.

The rest of you smart folks, buy a Solstice if you know what is good for you.

well the rx-8 wasnt a true come back of the times of the sport japanesse cars, but we are getting the GT-R quite soon i would love if toyota brings back the supra or at least the celica or maybe another model but sporty, mitsu is doing pretty well with the evo they could make a evo coupe totally different car from the lancer maybe the eclipse or another 3000gt mazda could bring the true rx-7, and this news of the 200sx is great really affordable rwd car

It would be awesome if they brought the 240sx/200sx/silvia back cause it would create a chain reaction and then mitsubishi would bring back the 3000gt vr4, and toyota would bring back the toyota supra minus that whole futuristic restyling it would be like bring the great past back to life with better technology. We win!!! I just feel that this concept does the 200sx no justice. take a minute and just imagine a 240sx with some nice leather bucket seats a sexy exterior but not too different from the original, a new interior with that isolated cockpit feel, with a modern technology, and a LS7 engine cause that car had a roomy engine bay. But so help me god if that POS car only comes with automatic, or paddle shift trannies cause right now I am thinking of a manual wrapped in MOMO leather.

The 240sx was called the 200sx or 180sx in europe and japan. this was because we got it with different engines all over the world. america got the ka24de which was an inline 4 w/ 2,4L displacement. europe and japan got it with the ca18det in the begining and towards the end we got the sr20det. anyways the original 200sx was just a branch of the silvias. what bogles me is that nissan didnt sell the s15 silvia in europe or america. i think it would have sold very well.

I'm sad to condradict myself but I probably will test drive it also. It still burns me up something feirce that it has taken the company this long to realize we'd like another 240SX/200SX/Silvia sold below the Z.

And the market it very small. The Solstice, Sky and Miata are wonderful cars but they only have two seats. Just because a person would like four seats or even four doors does not automatically mean that they want a family sedan that drives the front wheels.

This is, all in all, good and promising news. I fully expect to read about a turbo engine option as well, given that in these modern times the only cars that can easily be squeezed for more power and still pass smog are turbocharged cars.

....and perhaps any Mustang, Camaro, Firebird or expensive Corvette with proven small block V-8s. If none of those cars are your style or within your budget......

The American 1995 200SX was FWD but only because it was a reworked Sentra. All others were RWD.

americanrevolution, I thought the same thing when I saw it.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the 200SX FWD? Wouldn't this be more of a successor to the 240SX?

There is plenty of room for a cheap, small, rear wheel drive car that ISN'T a convertible two seater (miata, sky, solstice, s2000, etc) That market died out in the 80's when every body wanted to make fwd cars. Make it nissan.

This car is boring. If you take the Landroveresq front fender the side profile would be bland... The rear-end, although I can't quite see it, looks like it was added on. this car would look better as a station wagon.

This is exactly the news I wanted to hear! This product direction is great!

..... six years ago that is. Where was Nissan with their "New 240SX" when I wanted to buy one? Nowhere. I have had my FWD coupe for six years and that's about long enough when what I wanted was a good rear drive coupe. 2010 is too long to wait. I'll be replacing my car with some other RWD small car next year.

Sorry Nissan. You'll gain many converts I am sure, but you have lost several as well.

Maybe add a small Ion-like or RX-8-ish set of "hidden" rear doors for those of us with kids.

Otherwise, pretty sweet idea.

Amen on the classic Alfa/Lancia feel of this car. As for drifting, I saw a drifting event in Atlanta and those people use 240SXs like mad. I loved the sound and smell of that event.

They should definitely build this - the concept was gorgeous, and had hints of classic Alfas and Maseratis in the 3/4 view. It's got a beautiful sense of balance about it, and the suicide doors look great on such a classic bodyshell.

It would be sick, A small RWD drive car with the drivetrian from the upcoming Nissan Sentra Spec-V (200hp I think) with a 6 speed manual would be a blast..price it in the low 20,000 dollar range and you would have a compelling alterenitive to a Civic si or any other sporty car in the range.
