It’s a great car, but the hybrid powertrain is a waste of time and money. Just offer it with the mid-engine V-8, hooked up to a traditional manual transmission and a PDK option, and be done with it. Oh, and keep the price below $80k. Oh, wait, this is Porsche we’re talking about, so the price tag will be more like $300k.

Porsche should build it. The 918 will help offset the loss of prestige that will occur when Porsche releases a 4-cylinder, FWD Rabbit/Golf-based model.

In reality, this is going to end up costing well over $500K.
