As a Mercedes owner, I am very disappointed. The front end is like an ugly bmw/lexus/scion etc…the rear end is like a maserati. Very disappointed to say the least. I was truly awaiting something spectacular; didn’t happen. Even when it was disguised, it was horrid. Hopefully, it looks much different live. It’s time to fire the CL designers. At least they’ve got the S-class right. And lets not talk about the horrendous looking R-class. Too much complete, radical changes.

I have a CL 500 01 and I love it. The styling is impeccable. But I’m having a hard time grasping the style of the new CL. It doesn’t look sporty luxury; just luxury and a little old fashion around the wheel well(sp) area. I’m not really feeling the design but the interior looks awesome.

Synopsis: I would take the Old big body style and the 2000’s CL’s over this anyday…

When Mercedes comes out with a new design, people have to remember that this design is supposed to last at least 7 to 10 years. Ther cars are never appealing right away but when every other caremaker starts copying off there designs then youll have a change of heart. its not the other way around. No other caremaker has the lines ard the close attention to detail that a merc has. It probably took some 5 years for merc to come out with the final layout of the new cl.

I love the new s and the new e, and I always have loved the old cl, but this one I just dont know… looks like a combination of the 6 series (which im not too fond of) and a scion. I was looking to sell my ML500 for an 04/05 CL500, at least this will drop the prices on those.

WTF….!? This heap of S&*t is actually a Mercedes? Hmmm…… Looks like a Extremely Luxurious Toyota Vios or Scion for that matter. Looking at those headlights, makes you wonder, what has been up at the Mercedes Designrooms lately….. ? They gone blind or something ?

Wow!.. they changed it way to much.. the current CL looks way better. This looks like the CLS but in a 2 door, and those are damn weird looking too. I thought when my lease was up I would get a new one.. Damn, maybe I’ll just keep mine.

I am very impress…Actually, i just one to buy the CL 600…as a bank owner in Canada, i will probably buy 2 or 3 personally before the ned of the line…Gorgeous.

Gosh! Was my dream car(1999-2006 model). Shame that the CL now looks like Hyundai Azera,Ford Taurus,AcuraRL from most angles…That too with such Lousy Alloys wheels designs from the 80’s era perhaps older… Who cares about the engines while paying a fortune on such cars..isn’t it more about CL..ass….& that’s exactly missing in this CL im afraid.. Won’t even give a 2nd look on road!

The 2006 model and body style was so unique to MB.
MB is in a class of its own. The new design of the CL isnt quite what I thought it was going to be, I am trying to keep an open mind but to be honest with you I didnt grab me and make me fall in love with it. The rims can be replaced but the front headlights….no no no….the rear Tail lights no no no…

Well, no matter how ugly or fugly the car looks people are still going to buy it. I mean I live in Newport Beach and they don’t buy on the design or quality, they buy on the name because Porsche > Mercedes-Benz > BMW > Audi > Lexus in their eyes. There are not that many car enthusiast when you live the in wealthy areas of the world. Oh and, if anything they leave out any domestic cars because they hate domestic anything in Newport Beach.

I work near Mercedes NA in Montvale NJ usa and saw this car on the road slightly discised this morning It looks pretty good. I always thought the sedan would look good as a coupe.

The last model CL design was perfect and I don’t just feel this way because it’s hard for me to stomach a new design or concept. I loved the old CL as soon as it came out in 2000, the very first time I saw it. This new CL design, althoug a nice car, just doesn’t give me that same chilling feeling. I don’t blame MB. They had reached true perfection with the old cl model….they just had no where else to go.

It all depends on where you look at it from. The front of it looks rubbish, but from the front/side view, it looks great. The wood and the leather on the seats on the inside are less contempory. Overall, a good all-rounder.

ms, you’re silly. If you knew anything you’d know this is a general article, and -350s are common, very common worldwide in the CLS, S and even SL classes. “Lost its sportiness” Um, the CL is a GT, and this car looks way more athletic than the pervious version to my eye. I think this thread is about dead. Cool rhyme.
