The 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser is no soccer mom’s SUV, says Edmunds. Compared to modern crossovers, the FJ is neither fuel efficient nor a people mover. “Throw in a nearly inaccessible rear seat, even when utilizing the small reverse-opening rear doors, and you have a rather inhospitable vehicle for soccer practice drop-offs or local mall runs.” But Toyota isn’t worried. “The automaker is sincere when it says the vehicle is designed for young single males who can appreciate the FJ’s extreme off-road capabilities.” Like the original, the new FJ is a true off-road machine, not a minivan replacement. There’s also talk of a high-performance “Moab” special-edition model that will feature the talents of Toyota’s in-house tuner division, TRD. Yesterday, we brought you new photos and specs on the 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser.
