The Nissan GT-R is just coming online in some global markets, but the Japanese automaker is reportedly already working on an updated version of its supercar. Dubbed the ‘Series II’, the revised version of the GT-R is rumored to hit the market in 2009.
Changes to the GT-R will be small, but the revisions will probably be enough to enrage a few 2008 GT-R owners. Underhood the Series II will see a five horsepower bump – brining total output to 478 – while fuel economy figures will grow from 19.3 mpg to an even 20 mpg, according to GTRBlog.com.

Other changes to the 2009 GT-R will include the deletion of the front license plate holder, Brembo brakes that now sport the Nissan badge, a larger fuel tank – up .75 gallons to 19.5 gallons – and a new paint color called ‘White Storm’.

The changes won’t come free, though, as GT-R prices are expected to jump 5 percent for 2009.

The GT-R Series II is expected to hit the Japanese market first in 2009, with the changes slowly trickling down to other global markets.
