It’s not from “out there” (by which I guess you mean Korea) it’s a one-off done modification by RMR which is based out Huntington Beach, California. Hyundai has done nothing but sanction it and co-operate on a corporate level.

hyundai should consider a MR car. It would REALLY get the auto industry stirring. Skip out on a miata-like roadster that’s been rumored on hyundai sites (slated to come out the same time as the Veloster, BTW, sharing the same platform & 1,6L turbo) and give us a MR car.

Exactly, Johnny. This design is an eyecatcher until you get the the cheap looking assymetrical nostril up front. It’s actually more like like mounting mounting Marty Feldman’s head on Angelina Joile’s body. I know some people will call us superficial for that, but I defy any of them to sport wood for Marty Feldman’s head. Which reminds me of one of my favorite parody songs to “Betty Davis Eyes” ….

Good catch Smegley… I agree.

I was in the lane next to a stock Genesis coupe last week for about 3 or 4 kms and the way traffic was moving I had a good long look at the profile, the back and the nose. The front end really is the weak point in its design. I mean this is supposed to be the sporty coupe to compliment the Genesis sedan and two thirds of the car does just that… unfortunately the last bit still screams Tiburon. C’mon Hyundai… this is not a difficult thing to fix.

SEMA = Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association. It’s an annual show in Vegas that is closed to the public for all the aftermarket companies to show their wares and generally out-bling each other. Part legitamate trade show, part pen1s waving contest, generally considered cool by all.

It’s cool I’ll give them that.

I’m not super crazy about the Genesis Coupe, but the fact it’s one of the only affordable 2+2 seater RWD coupes out there that isn’t a Mustang, Camaro, or Challenger I’m glad at least something is out.

I do admit while the Genesis Coupe in stock form doesn’t really appeal to me with some of these body kits I think it actually looks really appealing.

What a waste of money.

They should just put on a show somethig that buyers will do… like make a turbo kit, a full coil over kit, and a subtle body kit. Maybe some brakes, intake, exhaust, headers, etc.. have a package.. whatever.

Something that will cost less than a Nissan 370Z, but out perform it. That should be the goal. Not this science project.
