Road tolling and toll lanes does not encourage motorists to drive less, a study conducted in the U.S has found, reports AutoExpress. A Government-funded trial in Seattle on the effects of toll booths on major routes discovered volunteer drivers avoided roads with the highest charges, even if it took them out of their way.
