Rolls-Royce says that it has opened its first modern new car showroom in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a move that signals its intent to expand with the burgeoning global upper class.

The automaker officially opened the new showroom in Kuala Lumpur's Petaling Jaya neighborhood, situated near some of Malaysia's wealthiest shoppers.

The 2,400 square foot showroom is big enough for three Rolls-Royce inventory vehicles and it includes an area where customers can select materials like wood trims, leathers and paint shades from samples provided from the company's factory in the United Kingdom.

Rolls-Royces are distributed in Malaysia by Quill Motorcars, which also has its headquarters in the same distinctive Quill 9 building as the showroom.

Malaysia marks Rolls-Royce's 18th Asia Pacific showroom.
