Despite a rather tumultuous 2008, Rolls-Royce managed to notch its fifth straight year of sales growth. In fact, worldwide sales were up an impressive 20 percent, totaling 1,212 units. Rolls-Royce is looking to keep that momentum rolling into 2009 and has announced some minor changes for its Phantom and Phantom Extended Wheelbase models.
For the 2009 model year, the Phantom range will sport a new front bumper that brings the sedan more in line with the Phantom Drophead Coupé and Phantom Coupé. The revised front fascia also features a shallower stainless steel front grille.
The 2009 Phantom also sees the addition of LED door handle illumination and new 21 inch wheels. Two other wheel designs will be optional.
Inside, the Phantom will now offer rear-seat passengers RCA component hookups for the 12-inch monitors mounted in the car’s picnic tables. Other interior updates included revised door cappings with integrated grab handles, C-pillar-mounted reading lights and repositioned rear controls for climate, volume and window functions.
The 2009 Phantom and Phantom Extended Wheelbase will begin production at Rolls-Royce’s Goodwood factory this spring.
