Plenty of mystery still surrounds the BMW concept that was spotted being off loaded at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this month, but a new report suggests what might be hidden beneath the concept’s cover.
According to AutoExpress, BMW ’s forthcoming concept will be a sleek, four-door coupe, intended to preview the automaker’s future design language. The concept will also show off BMW’s latest green technology.
Believed to be called the EfficientDynamics Vision concept, the four-door coupe will likely be powered by a turbocharged three-cylinder engine mated to a hybrid drivetrain. No performance specs have been leaked as of yet, but the EfficientDynamics Vision concept will likely offer fuel economy in excess of 50 mpg.
Style-wise, the EfficientDynamics Vision concept likely foreshadows the next-generation of BMW ’s 1- and 3-Series models, and could even hint at the design direction of the 2011 6-Series. While plenty of speculation still surrounds the mystery concept, all questions should be answered in the coming weeks as the start of the Frankfurt shows is just about a month away.
