Saab has announced it will release a Yellow Edition of its 2008 Saab 9-3 Convertible just in time for summer. The 2008 Saab 9-3 Convertible Yellow Edition will follow in the footsteps of other yellow edition Saabs, which were issue in 1991 and again in 1997.
The 2008 Saab 9-3 Convertible Yellow Edition is based on the 210 horsepower 2.0T 9-3 but will add a few goodies to make it really stand apart from the standard car. The biggest — and most obvious — change from the standard car is the Yellow Edition’s bright Lynx Yellow paint job.
Inside, the Yellow Edition features a long list of standard equipment, including XM Satellite Radio and OnStar.
The car’s exterior will feature unique 17 inch alloy wheels and a subtle rear-deck spoiler.
The 2008 Saab 9-3 Convertible Yellow Edition will sticker for $42,830, which is about a $3,000 premium over the standard 9-3 convertible.

The unofficial Live Strong edition
I love not owning a Saab.
I am another satisfied, proud owner of something OTHER than a saab.
I’ve always found Saabs to be rather handsome… but in a quirky, Swedish kind of way… Kind of like how I find Volvos to be rather handsome… but in a boring, Swedish kind of way.
Regardless… $3K is kind of steep for a coat of yellow paint.
I’m just waiting for someone to come on and immediately say this is a POS because it’s made by GM… despite the fact that post-GM Saabs have had a tremendous rise in build quality compared to pre-GM models.
^exactly what i was thinking
I like the new Saab 9-3 a lot. But the only Saab I’d own would be a 9-3 Turbo X. But at 41k sticker. No thank you. Maybe I’ll look into the new 9-1 when it comes out.
I think we’re looking at the next #1 top searched car at gaywheels.com
Volvo has no reason to exist, and Saab even less so.
#2 Need4SSpeed, right behind Smart Cars.
It looks cool, but only 210 hp?? So underpowered….
Yeah, big price tag for an underpowered car. I haven’t really gotten to take a good look at the 9-3, but doesn’t look like it’s really moved forward aside from new headlights.
lol yeah I saw a Smart fortwo targa last night, and the guy driving it was driving it so fast thinking he was cool, lucky for him I was about 4 cars behind him because if I was sitting next to him at the light I would have raced his ass and put his little 1.3L 70hp engine back in its place.
Everytime I see a Smart I wish I had a giant golf club so that I could smack it somewhere… anywhere else.
let me pay 42k so some little kid in a cobalt SS can rape me on the street- but oh well, i’m driving a SAAB…. even though Richard Pryor made it look cool in the movie MOVING
Ya, I’ve been dissatisfied with the direction Saab is going. Lots of heavy markups for dumb crap, and less and less value. Just look at the Black Turbo edition and the premium for it. Now this thing. The other dumb thing is Saab never sells at MSRP… they always have incentives going. Why not just price it for what they sell them for?
I have a yellow ‘00 9-3 Viggen. At least back then the $5k premium got you a completely different engine package, interior seats & leather upgrades, trims, aero kits, upgraded brakes, heavier duty clutch, suspension, etc. Yellow wasn’t additional and there was enough different from the Aero 9-3’s to at least justify the markup.
It should be called the pee pee or piss adition, cause it looks like piss yellow. Yellow is the worst ****in color for a car.
Murderedout,
You don’t know much about cars, do you?
I’m just waiting for someone to come on and immediately say this is a POS because it’s made by GM… despite the fact that post-GM Saabs have had a tremendous rise in build quality compared to pre-GM models.
Im guessing you are whining about me .. I like Saabs they are unique and timeless. Unfortunetely they have GM DNA written all over them so they are not and shouldnt be an option over anything from Honda or Toyota
Im thinking you said the rise in build quality since GM owned them to prove a point and Im sure there is no proof of that lol.
Just seeing GM and build quality in the same sentence is funny unless the sentence is GM’s are unreliable, unsafe and have ****ty build quality
That sounds about right
Yeah, $42K for 210 HP is a bit much. At least give it the newer LNF Ecotec Turbo with 260 HP. GM needs to hook that engine up with a 6-spd transmission ASAP.
Need4SSpeed, #1 search at gaywheels.com will always belong to the PRIUS!
I’m down with Saab, I like their cars a lot, but 42k is too much. Audi, BMW, and Benz all offer something infinitely more interesting at cheaper prices.
lol stick2clutch!
For around 42k you could get the Saab 9-3 Turbo X, with the 6spd, 280hp 2.8L Turbo, XWD (same as AWD) much better bargain for the money but even for that I think 41k is way too much for a 9-3.
Yeah the base 9-3 needs the LNF global_lightning.
It’s starting to get old. Time for a remake…..oh I forgot it’s a SAAB GM’s least important brand.
murderedout, a yellow doesn’t look so bad on a Lamborghini, Ferrari, or a taxi. Audi RS 4s look nice in yellow, too.
Funny how some people probably aren’t even old enough to really remember pre-GM Saabs… yet once again, they claim to be a ****ing expert… Just like they’re probably not old enough to remember old BL Jags, yet will argue that Ford didn’t improve their build quality tremendously.
Frankly, I remember both very well and am old enough to have actually had real experience (a foreign concept, I’m sure) with both… If some 80s/90s baby wants to argue otherwise, then find some meaningless links.
Is there anyone else who actually remembers pre-GM Saabs and pre-Ford BL Jags… if you do, then you know exactly what I mean.
Still have no proof huh Talking wrecklessly again ?
RAFA LL I know way more about cars than you or anyone on this site. I bet you never heard of a Marlboro Syclone or a Sledgehammer Corvette.
YELLOW IS THE WORST RESALE COLOR!
AMGoff- I remember really well the older Jaguars. I specifically remember the XJ-S, there’s one sitting out for sale in a neighbors yard, what a pile of junk that is.
If you mean Saabs being unreliable, I’m not sure about that, I had known a few of the smaller models to be pretty good…
murderedout- Sorry bud, but you have yet to prove anything. How about you tell us some stuff about your own car, I could tell you plenty details about mine that you wouldn’t usually find on the internet.
