Wake up people! GM has been turning their large ship around for the past 5 years. The gas price increase and this credit crisis came at a time when GM was too close to the edge financially. These gov’t bridge loans are just that – bridges to the future when a lot of people will need/want to replace their older cars. GM will survive this crisis and be leaner, meaner and more focused.

Everything new from GM is selling well and they will continue to replace dogs with winners (new Equinox, new Lacrosse, Cruze, Orlando, New SRX, Torrent,). That’s on top of the Malibu, CTS, G8, Enclave, Acadia, Outlook, Sky, Aura, Vue, CK Pickups, Slade, Tahoe. Wake up people! These are good / great cars and they’re getting better every year.

I already understand this is a pre-production model. That isn’t my point. The interior overall has a Saab look going for it… but why do they need an SUV when from the same company you can grab a GMC or Cadillac that competes in the same segment.

When I thought GM stopped with the redundancy, it all happens again. The Acadia/Enclave/Traverse/Outlook, and the GMC Terrain/Saab 9-4X/Chevrolet Equinox/Cadillac SRX. All they need is the Traverse/Enclave, and the Equinox/SRX.

Again, read my post. I’M SAYING THAT THE GMT360s ARE HERE FOR ‘09. The article is saying they were “discontinued for ‘09″. So I corrected the article.

And for those complaining about the interior design…this is a prototype, so the photo is just a rough preview of what will go on sale. There’s probably trim missing, and the panel gaps are pretty big as well. So don’t get your panties in a wad.

Stays true to Saab but carries much more style and hopefully quality. I like it. The rest of of the 9-4X, meh. Just hope something like that gets into the new 9-5.

Would’nt buy one for two reason. one If you could possible read those front gauges you must have spectacles. and second it got paper thin body walls that are dangerous in a real world accident.

Nice, better than the SRX. It’s pretty good how they disguised the “new standard” GM dash to make it look fairly unique. But, then again, I always liked Saab dashboards. Undersated, functional & durable. No silver painted buttons. Those are played more than clear taillamps…

Wow, pretty nice looking actually. A diesel in a Saab, cool! Is that a first? There must have been a European spec Saab at one time available with a diesel. Dang it, why are all the companies putting out all these great vehicles, or concepts, when everyone’s on the verge of bankruptcy!

i agree jayjc08.

saab should just stick to making vehicles with that quirky charm that it always used to have. i think that the saab enthusiasts would have stayed and the company wouldnt be in the same situation. GM screwed saab over.

Interior just isn’t good enough. It looks like any past cheap Saab product. I’m not crazy about the exterior either.

Maybe Saab just doesn’t need an SUV, did GM ever think of that…

Read my comment again. I’m saying the same thing you are. The GMT360s have been discontinued “after” the 2009 model year, not “for” it. If the latter were correct, there’d be no ’09s, since they’d have been discontinued for the 2009 model year.

-That’s wrong. They stopped building them all together (forever) in December of ‘08 as a ‘09 model year. they planned to do that, but changed their minds late last year. There will never be a 2010. I know, I order cars from manufacturers directly, I was told straight from GM.

I’ve owned several Classic Saab 900s…they say they put the key in the console so you don’t hit you knee in an accident…AT LEAST put the start button down there! Besides that, this looks great!

One note of correction,

Nice interior, put’s the 9-3’s to shame.

Now before everyone goes off saying this will never make it. It’s still being developed, so even if GM sells the brand, it won’t disappear. You will see this on the road someday. If anything, this will be the model that will make someone want to buy SAAB out.
