Saab has released pricing for its 2009 models, which see a handful of minor changes across the line, particularly for the 9-3, which sees an expanded lineup and Bluetooth capability. Saab’s all-wheel-drive system, dubbed XWD, or Cross Wheel Drive, is newly available on the turbocharged 2.0T sedan and wagon with a choice of manual or automatic transmissions.
The 9-3 also gets a Sport package for the 2.0T sedan that includes many of the upgrades of the V6 Aero, including a sport-tuned chassis and performance brakes, 17 inch wheels, sport seats and dual tailpipes. For 2009, 9-3s also get Bluetooth and OnStar 8.0, which features turn-by-turn navigation.
With XWD, 9-3s also include a moonroof, heated seats and an automatic transmission – though Saab says a six-speed stick will be available, though it’s not clear if that’s a no-cost option.
The 9-5 more or less stands put for what’s expected to be its last model year in its current form. Aside from a few new colors, black interior trim on the Aero and revised power window switches, the old soldier carries on.
The Ohio-built 9-7x also carries on for what will probably be its last year, adding only Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity and some new colors.
