By comparison my 96 Lincoln Mark VIII also gets 32 on the highway and I have a very large trunk. :P I know one can not compare a car to SUV, but mine is no Geo, its a fricken 2-ton heavy cruiser with a billion luxury features and I still get great milage. It is only classified as a mild hybrid. The electric portion of the vehicle does _nothing_ to propel the vehicle...that means the gasoline engine is running anytime it is moving for those of you who don't know what mild hybrid means. The Escape, on the other hand, is a full hybrid. That means sitting still and up to speeds of 35mph the vehicle is propelled by the electric power only _not gas_. I own a Vibe and have spent plenty of time around a Vue. There's not a really strong comparison between the two from a cargo comparison. The Vue is bigger. Not to mention you are looking at a difference of about 45 hp (170 vs. 126). So, it is not a good comparison, regardless of how much you want to trash the Vue. That said...I really do like my Vibe.
