Saved! Top Gear resumes filming

10/05/2006, 8:36 AM

By admin

Popular British automotive TV show Top Gear has been saved from the axe following a dragster accident involving presenter Richard Hammond three weeks ago. BBC is set to resume filming of the show today, with Jeremy Clarkson taking a new Lotus out for a spin.

After Hammond’s near-fatal 300 mph accident, there were rumors the BBC might cancel the show permanently. Luckily, Hammond’s recovery has been miraculously quick, and support for the show remained strong.

Hammond was reportedly enraged that Top Gear might be canceled, and said he wanted footage of his crash played on the show, with commentary from his hospital bed. It’s not known if the BBC will include footage of the accident or of Hammond in the next episode of the show.

Super! Clarkson is still a jerk, a fact that seems to please him?

Clarkson is the most lovable jerk I know. I’m glad the BBC didn’t let this ruin an excellent (arguably the best) automotive show.

That was a very quick recovery, I actually didnt think that a recovery from an accident at those speeds was possible.

Thank God, television would have been worse off without Top Gear.
