Recently purchased a xB from a dealership in NJ.
Not offered through Scion dealers in the Northeast is cruise control. Yet, go on Scion.com, 'build your own Scion', and put in a South Carolina zip code and sure enough...cruise control is listed as an option.
After numerous e-mails to Scion customer service their answer is that it is a dealer installed option and therefore may not be covered under my Scion warranty. I explained that 'build your own' with my zip code shows fog lights as an option, would they be covered under my warranty if they cause a problem?
Their answer, 'Yes, because fog lights are a Scion accessory.' My reply, 'By using a SC zip code, on the options page shows Cruise Control without any asterisk to warn me that this is not a Scion approved accessory. So, why are their different Scion options in different parts of the US?'
I got the company line of answering in circles. On my next driving trip to FL, I will drop the car off at a SC Scion dealership and get cruise control.
The question is, do the people in the Southeast know that Scion will not honor, through their warranty, any repairs due to the cause of Scion dealership installed cruise control?
The individual dealer may cover it, but not Scion.
Very confusing.
I do love my Scion. My 8th Toyota vehicle.

Not more of this Scion crap. I'll admit Toyota builds reliable cars, but this Scion thing is getting out of hand.
