I dig the Fuse concept. If I were Scion I would leave the styling as is and market it as their core sports car. Give it some real power, AWD or RWD & keep it light and inexpensive. You would have Auto-X and track types eating it up.

Now we see how brand and platform marketing comes into play, and ruins the goals and values set by a company. Way to go.

Good ideas, Zoom 6. Instead of basing the sedan on the tC, I'd make it a retro-Yakuza style, something like a cut-down Toyota Crown (not available in U.S.)
For the truck, I remember the mini-trucks Toyota, Nissan and Ford sold in the 80's and 90's. They were cheap and could take a beating. There was a good aftermarket for these trucks too.
For their third new design, how about a off-roader to slot beneath the FJ Cruiser? It gets away from their urban theme but opens up a whole new market to them.

Also if Scion wants to do well, they need a sedan. Remember for some odd reason sedans sell better than hatchbacks. So make a Scion sedan, maybe make a Scion truck but make it the size of the Ford Rangers from the 90's, and make the TC a little bigger. You can't just sell to Gen-Y forever because if Gen-Y loses interests in your cars, Who do you have?

I dont know why they are heading with this boxy design. Cars are not boxes they are supposed to be vehicles with excellent swift flowing designs where you put your your hand on the car and you feel the design in your touch. I cant feel nothing with a box, a box only has 4 sides. But anyways the TC is there best selling car behind the XA. The TC sells to teenagers who want a cheap coupe the XA sells to those who want excellent gas mileage, and the XB sells to those who want a wannabe SUV. There plan is great. You just missing one thing better design offerings. There commercials lack marketing, when if I don't want my car to look like it was on Pimp My Ride. To sell you need better advertisements and better designs there best design they have right now is the TC. Expand on that instead of trying to make everything look like a box.

While anything SCION offers doesn't personally seem attractive in my eyes apparently it does in others' eyes. I see about half the SCION tCs for all the Cobalt, or Civic, or Focus coupes that I see on the road and that's alot. I rarely see xB's or even less Xa's at least in my area, but tC's I do see a lot of. I think SCION's mission statement was good on paper, although I don't think they have executed it as well.

I just pray that whatever the next rumored (Subaru supplied Impreza chassis and AWD system and boxer engine) that's going in Toyota's revived sports car doesn't make it into the SCION showrooms, because then I definitely won't be looking forward to owning one.

How about not replacing the entire lineup and just get the flock out of the Country? Scion, Toyota and the rest of these japanese scumbags have no place in this COuntry, we as Americans have a duty to support American made autos, those supplied to us by General Motors.

Most of the offerings by toyota are designed toward the feminine or effeminate taste.
They make money doing it but I just don’t care.

Muzikman, Toyota has a nasty habit of putting out designs that offend my eyes. I'll decide what products I will consider based upon my criteria and not on yours or the pathetic marketing freaks at Toyota who are designing products aimed at 8 year old girls (which sadly enough is the mental level of the average American).

Toyota's new motto: 'Quantity, not Quality'
People aren't buying the new xB and xD because they've lost the orginality of their initial designs. They've become obnoxious, and are driving away their TRUE customers (read muzikman73 above). What made these cars attractive were a combination of style with:
Utility (xB)
Sportiness (tC)
Economy (xA)
The xD and new xB have gotten away from this formula. Hopefully they won't screw things up again with the new tC

I hate marketing labels. Gen Y? What the heck is that? And who cares except marketing doofi.

I cross-shopped a Neon (in 84) to an E-class and bought an E class. No marketing noob would have predicted that.

Scions are odd looking, drive firmly, slowly, and seem okay for the money.

Have ANY of ever sold Scions? Some of us have! The Scion brand was actually launched and targeted towards Gen-Y buyers, but the average age of a Scion buyer is 35!!! I have seen 50 and 60-year old men and women buy XA's and XB's as 16-25 year-olds! I used to sell Toyota's and Scion (now work for a different manufacturer). Also, Ricardo, just because YOU don't like something doesn't mean it's a bad idea. Toyota (or any other maufacturer) is not going to spend MILLIONS of dollars on production and marketing just on a whim. There is a difference between "If they produce that vehicle I'll NEVER consider a Toyota EVER!" and making a vehicle that someone or millions of people like that you find distasteful. The Pontiac Aztek is one of the UGLIEST vehicles EVER MADE, but I wouldn't go so far as to write off the ENTIRE BRAND because they made ONE vehicle that little old me didn't like! Comments like that make you (or anyone else) sound like an eight-year old girl throwing a temper tantrum. Come on; you're smarter than that.
