Volkswagen’s Spanish Seat division has taken the wraps off the five-door version of its Mii subcompact. Riding on VW’s new small car platform, the new Mii joins five-door versions of the VW up! and Skoda Citigo.

Like its up! and Citigo counterparts, the five-door Mii is powered by a 1.0L three-cylinder gas engine. Buyers can choose between 60 horsepower and 75 horsepower versions of the car, with the most efficient version offering up to 57mpg.

Although the Mii five-door has a small footprint, it boasts some of the best cargo room in its class. The Mii five-door can swallow 9 cubic feet of luggage behind its rear seats, with that volume growing to nearly 34 cubic feet with the seats folded.

Seat promises the five-door Mii retains all the sportiness of its three-door counterpart.

“The five-door is the perfect expansion to our Mii line-up,” Dr. Matthias Rabe, SEAT Vice-President for Research and Development, said. “Just as sporty, just as dynamic, but with a considerable increase in usability.”
