SEAT Tribu concept

VW’s SEAT brand has unveiled it Tribu concept. Designed by SEAT’s new design chief — and former Lamborghini designer — Luc Donckerwolke, the concept crossover introduces a new styling direction that will eventually span the entire SEAT lineup. The Tribu concept abandons SEAT’s typical organic, flowing style for a more angular and taught design.

The Tribu Concept features a rail-mounted rear hatch that opens in two stages — the first stage opening the tailgate partially with the second sliding the entire tailgate over the roof — as well as a panoramic roof. The concept also has three selectable drive modes — Urban, Sport and Freerun — which alter engine and suspension settings from economy to off-road settings. No powertrain details were released.

when I saw the picture I was ooh sweet!, then I saw, and read the article, and was veryyy dissapointed it was a SUV, and not a sports coupe. what a waste of such an agressive face.

Looks like a 1981-82 AMC Eagle Kammback, but with a different nose.

It’d look great if it was on a sports coupe or sedan, but it’s wasted on a SUV.

It looks very much like the Lamborghini concept SUV pics that were going around a year or two ago. I guess it’s probably from the same designer eh? I suppose the face wont be appearing on a Lambo anytime, ah well. . .

Damn… when I saw the front I was like “this is nice”, but then I saw the rest of it. That face is wasted on an SUV.

Got Handling?

Isuzu Vehicross revisited, and about time too. Although I imagine this would be a soft-roader, but imagine if it could handle the rough stuff…

Love it, and it looks almost production-ready

Very nice, as Borat would say. We’ll never see on this side of the Pond. If something will come here it will be of shabby assembly from mexican plant. Same faith like the rest of VW line-up statewide.

Nice. If a production version looks anything like it, then Seat can spit on me.

There is already an Altea Freetrack with high ground clearance, 4wd, bits of plastic glued on and very little off-road ability. What’s this for?

unfortunate that this angular, underwhelming shape is to be the new look of SEAT.. looks like a Leon mated with a Jeep Compass :(
