It's been nearly two years in the making, but Infiniti has finally delivered the first example of its FX Vettel Edition performance SUV. Fittingly, the first hot rod FX off the production line was delivered to its namesake, Infiniti Director of Performance Sebastian Vettel.
First shown at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the FX Vettel Edition was tuned with direct input from the F1 champ. The FX Vettel Edition started out life as an FX50, but was converted into a road-hugging, 186mph super SUV.

"I'm proud to now own the Infiniti that I helped design," Vettel said. "It has great performance, responsive handling and fits my daily life perfectly. The FX Vettel Edition is great fun to drive and I like that it is totally unique, I am sure many other Infiniti owners will feel the same way."

Infiniti plans to produce just 150 units of the FX Vettel Edition, ensuring the SUV's exclusivity. However, that uniqueness doesn't come cheap as the SUV carries a price tag of 120,000 euros ($156,000).

Infiniti will sell the FX Vettel Edition Western Europe, the Middle East and Russia, but the SUV will be off limits to buyers in the United States.
