Subaru prices 2018 Outback

Subaru has released pricing information for the updated 2018 Outback. Pricing starts at $26,810, which represents a slight increase over the 2017 model. The Japanese brand has also bumped its destination charge by $40 up to $915.

Takata to file for bankruptcy Monday

Beleaguered airbag supplier Takata will file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Monday, sources have told Reuters. Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group will supply the loan for the company's restructuring, which should end with an acquisition by U.S.-based Key Safety Systems, Inc., the wire service reports. Takata's rupturing airbags have been linked to at least 150 injuries and more than a dozen deaths worldwide and are were installed in millions of vehicles sold as far back as 2004.


Porsche 911 GT2 RS sold out

The 1,000 examples of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS are all spoken for even though production hasn't started yet. The 700-horsepower track weapon is expected to make its full debut before the end of the year.


Peugeot returns to pickup market

Paris-based Peugeot is returning to the pickup truck segment in one of the most unimpressive ways imaginable. The company has turned to Chinese partner Dongfeng to sell a re-badged version of the Rich, which is a 20-year old Nissan Navara with a new face. Named Pick Up, the model is aimed at the African market.   


Alfa not worried about slow Giulia sales

The Giulia hasn't exactly been a runaway success, but Alfa Romeo isn't concerned. "We're really not out to win any sales crowns. We're out to re-establish a legendary brand around the world," company boss Reid Bigland told Motor1.

Superformance MkIII sets Cobra speed record

A Superformance MkIII set a new speed record for the Shelby Cobra. Owned by Ted Taormina, the model recently hit 201 mph on an airport runway. The previous record of 198 mph was set by Dick Smith in 1967.
